Lots of New Happenings

I got exciting news the other day from my niece in California. I'm going to be a Great Aunt! She is going to have a baby boy in Aug. I'm so excited for her. Now I get to go baby boy shopping for her. And hopefully make a trip to California this year. She asked me if I'd come out & see her & the new baby. That made me really happy she gave me that invitation. So I'm hoping to make that happen. It sure would be neat if I could. My niece's baby will make my grandma (who will be 102 in 2 months) a Great Great Grandma. Five generations for my family in August. That is pretty darn cool.

I had a photo shoot in February that went really well. The little girl was so cute. She made such a good photo subject. I've had a couple leads of interest for Senior Portraits, so I'm hoping to get to work with those folks. I'm taking my neighbor boy's Senior photos free of charge as his family is some real financial hard times because of his dad's recent serious illness. It was the least I could do for their family as they didn't think they'd get Senior Portraits for him. Hopefully, he will send his friends my way.

My Tulum & Maya book edits are going really well. I seem to be on a roll. Those Maya were certainly interesting people. A little on the crazy side, but interesting.

I joined a Fitness Club called Fitness 19. It's close to my house & only $18 a month. So I really have no excuses to not go. I started going every day, although today I took a day off as I'm pretty tired and sore. I got a one hour session with a personal trainer and it was a really good session. Much better than I had expected. He went over my goals and how to achieve them. Then he gave me a work out regiment and he went through all the equipment and exercises I need to do.

The weather is getting nicer every day, so I hope that means that winter is over. We did have a pretty short winter this year, which is good in my book. We usually get the March Madness NCAA College Basketball Tournament winter snow storm, so I'm still expecting that. But I sure am welcoming this nicer weather. It's nice that the sun doesn't set until around 6pm and when I drive to work I get to see the sunrise.

Just a Girl Getting Ready to Leave Town

The forecast is looking marvelous for Mexico. Not so marvelous here in MN. Free Smiley Face Courtesy of www.FreeSmileys.org While I am sitting ocean side, enjoying an 83 degree sun shiney afternoon, enjoying a Corona.....Minnesota will be getting buried with snow.... Sorry folks, as much as I love you all, I'm glad it will be crappy weather I am missing out on.

There is much to do to get ready to leave town and the cavemen behind for 5 days. Especially since there won't be any email or cell phone contact. Cell usage fees get a bit spendy when you leave the country. So, they will get the text that I have landed safely, then I'm shutting my phone off. In this day and age of constant instant contact, it will feel a bit weird not being in contact.

In order to make the cavemen happy and not grumbling the whole time I'm away, I have set them up for my absence. I am baking a chocolate cake (at 11:42 pm mind you), I have lasagna in the refrigerator, and babysitting and kid shuffling arrangements all planned out.

Last evening I did my last tanning session. I went to the upgraded bed for the full 15 minutes. I'm thinking 10 minutes would have been the way to go. I am now a lovely reddish brown color. Oh boy am I in for it when get there. I will be fully loaded with an arsenal of sun screen and after sun lotion. I got my last minute shopping done, disposable underwater cameras, extra batteries for my purse sized camera, a swim suit cover, ect... This evening I finished up the laundry, picked out which clothes are going and which ones can stay home, got my eyebrows waxed and eyelashes tinted, attended an informational meeting at school, filled out some last minute school paperwork for the cavechildren, and baked a cake. Yep, that should cover it.

I of course can not forget to come home with my list of items I need to bring home...a rattlesnake, a jump rope, a refrigerator magnet, a t-shirt, a kitten, and then what ever I want. I will see what I can do for that list and hope it all fits in my suit case with out making it weigh over 50 pounds.

I have also been practicing up on my Spanish. Hola! Dos Cervazas por favor. Gracias. Yep, that may be all I need to know. I am taking my cheat sheet along with me, just in case I need something besides beer. LOL. Free Smiley Face Courtesy of www.FreeSmileys.org

Tomorrow that leaves me with tying up the loose ends, hoping that whatever it is I forgot to pack (there is always something), I can buy it when I get there or live with out it. And the last minute hopes and prayers that I land safely, have a great time, and am at ease that the guys can indeed live with out me, at least short term anyway.
